The pendulums in the picture are my own. One is brass and the other one is a polished stone. These are the ones I use when I am dowsing. Dowsing with the pendulum has been used for centuries for personal gain, and to help others who may have been in need of some kind.

They have been used to dowse for water, ley lines, precious stones and metals, coins,and to find out the health of your body or someone else's. They have even been used to communicate with your pets, your spirit guide and even to find lost objects within your home. The police have also sought out experienced users of the pendulum to help them find murder victims. .

There are a number of theories - all relative - as to how the pendulum works. The most popular answer is that it moves by minute muscle movements within the thumb and forefinger that are controlled by the subconscious mind. One has to remember that the pendulum cannot move of its own accord and is merely an instrument working through the vibrations of your body. What it does do, however, is magnify subconscious thoughts of the user into meaningful 'YES, 'NO' answers.

Yet, there is more to the pendulum than meets the eye. Because we are connecting to our subconscious mind, this in turn is also connected to our 'Higher Selves', who in turn are connected to the universe and spiritual realm. So anytime we wish to gain answers from our pendulum which comes straight from our 'Higher Selves', we must state this fact BEFORE we ask questions.

The fact of the matter is, that pendulums do work. As to their accuracy? That depends upon the skill of the user and his or her ability to be able to use the pendulum in a way that it reacts strongly every time. So, this article is about dowsing with the pendulum. Its uses, what you have to do before you begin and how to 'connect' with your pendulum. Also, i will be looking at how you can dowse for lottery numbers by merely using the pendulum.

Dowsing with the pendulum has been a skill that has been used for centuries. The pendulum has been used to search for water, precious stones and minerals, lost objects, and even murder victims. In fact, the pendulum can be used for any number of things, from finding lost object, [as mentioned above] to finding out about your own health.

No one knows exactly how dowsing works, but there are a myriad of answers to this. One answer is that the pendulum is able to magnify subconscious minute muscle movements within our thumb and forefinger. Obviously, these are unnoticed by us, but they are picked up by the pendulum which acts as some kind of aerial or psychic antenna.

So, therefore, the movement of the pendulum comes from ourselves, our subconscious minds. Yet there is something more to it than that. As well as very tiny muscle movements pushing the pendulum on, there are others who believe that the pendulum is contacting higher spirits, and is actually a 'gateway' to the spirit world.

This 'spirit' or 'guardian angel' of the person using the pendulum is made aware that you wish to contact them by a simple chant. I shall go into this later on within this article. But it is through this chant, that all answers received are then from the spirit guide and not from the subconscious mind.

On purchasing a pendulum go for the one you are attracted too. In fact, the pendulum picks you, not the other way round. Asked whether you can hold the pendulum in your hand. Does it feel comfortable? Once a pendulum feels comfortable and you are happy with it, then that is the one for you.

The way to find out which movement is the 'YES' answer and which is the 'NO', you have to learn how to 'connect' with your pendulum. it is at this point that I must tell you that once you have purchased your pendulum allow no one else to touch it. it must contain and absorb your energy within it, no one else's.

So, in order to charge your pendulum, and to find out what your 'SEARCH' position is, stay calm, find a quiet moment and hold the chain of the pendulum between your thumb and forefinger. Allow the pendulum to dangle. Do not force it to move but keep your hand as still as possible.

Whichever hand you hold the pendulum in, stick with that hand from now on. Clear your mind of everything other than finding out your positions that your pendulum will use. So, say to the pendulum - either out loud or within your mind, it doesn't really matter, 'Show me my 'YES' position'.

At this point your pendulum will begin to move in a clockwise direction. Once you see this movement, say, in your mind or out loud, 'This is 'yes'. This is positive. This is Yang'. This is 'YES'. Your pendulum will understand. You now know which is the 'YES' movement.

Stop the movement of the pendulum either by lowering the weight on the table then picking it up again. Or by stopping it with your other hand. Either way, this is telling the pendulum that your question has been answered in a satisfactory manner.

You then go through the same process when you want to find out the 'NO movement. Clear your mind. Allow the pendulum to dangle from the chain. Keep your hand as still as possible, then within your mind - or out loud - say 'Show me the 'NO' position'. Your pendulum should begin to move in an anticlockwise position. You then say, 'This is 'NO'. This is Yin. This is receptive. This is 'NO'.

Again, you now know which movement is 'NO'. The next movement you need to find out is the 'Maybe Wrong' position. Hold the pendulum still, allow it to dangle, clear your mind and then ask, within your mind or out loud, 'Show me my 'MAYBE WRONG' position. Your pendulum will then begin to swing in a diagonal motion - around 45 degrees.

The 'MAYBE WRONG' movement can be taken as your pendulum refusing to answer your question. This is because you may have asked a question which is out of bounds for you. A question whose answer may harm you at some level in the future. So, the pendulum refuses to answer - or it may stay completely still.

Once you have find out the movements for 'YES' 'NO' and 'MAYBE WRONG', then you are ready to go ahead and ask your question. As with any form of divining, you must show respect to the spirit who will be answering your question through the pendulum.

In order to make sure that your answers are coming from your spirit guardian/ or guardian angel, begin by clearing your mind. Make your statement clear and understandable. State, clearly, that you wish to contact your 'HIGHER SELF'. And that all answers should come from your 'HIGHER SELF' and no one else'.

This then rules out your answers being given directly from your subconscious mind - or from other spirits that may attach themselves to you. What this statement also does, is alert your guardian angel/spirit guide to the fact that you want them to answer your question.

Hold the chain of the pendulum. Clear your mind. Then ask your question. Ask a question that you already know the answer too, at first. Say to the pendulum the following, 'I would like to ask a question. Do I have permission? Your pendulum should begin to move 'clockwise'. Then say, 'Do I have enough dowsing ability to be able to do this'? Your pendulum should begin to move to the 'YES' position.

Then go ahead and ask your question you know the answer too, such as your name. 'Is my name Wayne'? Depending upon what your name is, the pendulum should move in either a clockwise or anticlockwise movement.

Ask one question at a time, clearly, precisely and without confusion. Remember, the pendulum can ONLY answer 'YES' or 'NO' questions. So word your question in a way that the pendulum understands. Once you have asked a number of questions you already know the answer too, then try asking questions you do not know the answer too.

These questions can be about your health, your home, a family pet, your family themselves. They can also be about finding lost objects, anything you wish. Questions in which you may get a 'MAYBE WRONG' reply, will be questions about any future lottery, gambling, and so forth.

However, when it comes to dowsing for lottery numbers this is controversial. There are people who say that one should not gamble for personal financial gain. I say why not? If you put into perspective that bankers have been responsible for the 'depression' and the economic downturn throughout Europe and America, for their own financial gain, then why should not we use the pendulum to gain an advantage over any lottery?

Furthermore, people who say one should not use the pendulum for financial gain because it can hurt us on some 'karmic' level are not taking into account the history of dowsing. Indeed, throughout the history of dowsing, people have used the pendulum, plus dowsing rods, to look for gold, coins, precious stones and minerals, water, oil etc.

All have financially gained on finding those things, so the pendulum, to my mind, as long as it is used for your own gain and you are not hurting anyone else, can be used with relative success, in dowsing for lottery numbers and/or used to find precious metals and jewels.

If one wants to dowse for lottery numbers there is one easy way to go about it. Whatever lottery you play, write out the numbers between 1 and whatever is the limit of your particular lottery. Write the numbers out on a large piece of paper.

Then cut those numbers out into squares. Place the squares upon a large table from number one to the number limit of your lottery. Then turn the numbers over so that they are face down on the table.

Shuffle the numbers around so that you do not know which number is which. Once they have been shuffled, clear your mind and concentrate on the time of your lottery that is about to be played.

Hold your pendulum over each number in turn. Remember, you do not know which number is which. See which way your pendulum moves over each number. If your pendulum moves in a clockwise position, then this is one of the numbers that will be picked out in whatever lottery you play.

Put this number to one side so you do not lose it. If the pendulum refuses to move, or moves in a anticlockwise position, move onto the next number. There have been many people who have used this system with varied results. Some have had success and others have been hit and miss.

It is important to remember that whatever numbers the pendulum chooses may not necessarily be for that lottery dated on that day or evening. But my advice would be to keep those numbers for a week or two.

If they are not drawn out after a maximum of two weeks then dowse your numbers again. I have been using the pendulum for some time now and have been astounded, so far by the results I have received.

It seems to be more accurate when your mind is clear, when you are not tired, or worn down. And especially, when you are not worrying about something. If you are stressed in any way, this can then skewer the replies you receive.

You can also influence the pendulum into moving in the direction you want it to move too. In other words, wanting answers that you want to hear. This again is the wrong way to use the pendulum. The pendulum should be used when you have a particular problem, health-wise, personal, financial, or you need to find out were your lost items are. The pendulum can also tell you if your home will be safe on the day you have to go out.

Simply, clear your mind, hold the chain of your pendulum, and ask it within your mind, or out loud, 'Will my home be safe today'? Allow the pendulum to move without influencing it in any way. Never repeat the same question. This is annoying to the spirit answering and you may find that your pendulum will not move at all. Or it will merely go into a 'MAYBE WRONG' movement.

So, to sum up. When purchasing a pendulum go for the one you are attracted too. Does it feel comfortable to hold? If so, this is the one for you. And in fact, the pendulum has picked you, rather than the other way round.

Pendulums have been used for centuries. Their accuracy mainly depends on the person using them and how much you practice. It also depends on the materials they are made from. These can consist of pure quartz crystal, plastics, wood, metals and any number of other materials.

Each one gives varying results. However, the fact remains that the pendulum is a tool, an instrument to find out answers to questions that we we may not know. These answers come from our 'Higher Selves' - or 'Spirit Guides'.

However, the answers are also stored deep within our subconscious minds. Because from the moment we are born, we take all in. Even though we may not realize it, our brains stores every bit of information within our subconscious. It is akin to some kind of biological filing cabinet bringing forth information that we didn't realize we had, for when we need it.

So, dangle the pendulum from its chain. Keep your hand nice and steady - as well as still. Say within your mind, or out loud 'Show me my SEARCH' position!'. Your pendulum should begin to move back and forth. If it does, this is your 'SEARCH' position.

If it doesn't move, then that also is your 'SEARCH' position. In fact, whichever way it moves, will be your 'SEARCH' position. My 'SEARCH' position is back and forth. Once you have found this out. then go on to find out which is your 'YES' position and which is your 'NO' position.

The pendulum should show you the positions for both. So say clearly, within your mind or out loud, 'Show me my 'YES' position'. Your pendulum should begin to swing in a clockwise position. This is your 'YES'.

You have to remember, however, that your 'YES' 'NO' and 'MAYBE WRONG' positions could be different for different users. However, for the vast majority of users, the 'YES' position is clockwise, the 'NO position' is anticlockwise, and the 'MAYBE WRONG' position, is a 45 degree angle.

Again, these positions are not the same for all users of the pendulum, so do not worry if your pendulum begins to move anticlockwise for 'YES' 'clockwise' for 'NO' and back and forth [ or no movement at all] for 'MAYBE WRONG'.

Within my family - especially my mother - we are very psychic. And over the years I used to watch my mother tell someone's future by merely reading the tea leaves within their cup. So, to my mind, as long as you are not hurting anyone else with your dowsing then to me, there can be no better use for using the pendulum to try to predict the numbers that will fall in your next local, or national lottery.

There have been many people who have have used their pendulum to win comfortable amounts of money. The trick is to stick at it. To constantly practice and to strengthen the 'Third Eye' and 'intuition' to be able to predict any future numbers that will fall.

I have tried this personally, for two weeks now. My numbers for the Irish Lottery [ in which I normally pick out three numbers from 1-49 to win £600.actually came up in one recent draw. I could pick five numbers and obviously if all five numbers came up I would win more money, but I like to stick to three.

The three numbers picked out by my pendulum actually came up. The problem was, that I had not stuck with them - big mistake. So the potential is there when dowsing for numbers using the pendulum. We just have to figure out which numbers are going to fall on what date of any future lottery being played. If we can figure that out, then we have cracked it.

This is one of many systems people use to try and win small sums in their local or national lotteries. For many people, they have great success. For others, it is hit and miss. The trick is to work with your pendulum when you are relaxed, free of stress and worry.

Any type of worry you have or 'need' will be picked up by your pendulum. It will then merely give you the answers you wish for, rather than allowing the pendulum to move freely. So, therefore, when picking lottery numbers with your pendulum, be free of stress, do not do it when your tired, or sick or generally not feeling yourself.

Again, this is because it will affect the movement of the pendulum. Free your mind, take deep breaths, then hover the pendulum over the numbers - which are placed face down and shuffled. See which way the pendulum moves over a number.

If it moves in a clockwise position, this is 'YES'. Pull that number out from the rest, then continue on until you have picked all of your numbers. If, at any time your pendulum moves in an anticlockwise movement, this is a 'NO'.

Simply go on to the next number in line. If your pendulum refuses to move, wait a couple of minutes then if it still has not moved, move onto the next number and so on. This is how you pick lottery numbers using your pendulum.

Stick with the numbers that the pendulum has picked for you for at least a week or so. The numbers picked may not necessarily be drawn in that same day lottery. However they could be drawn in a 'near-future' lottery,

So stick with the numbers. If after a week or so your numbers have not come up, dowse the numbers again. Allow the pendulum to hover over each number [from 1 through to whatever is the highest number of your particular lottery you play] and see how your pendulum reacts.

If it is clockwise then that is a positive sign, So you simply pull that number away from the rest and mark it down. If it is anticlockwise, or it does not move, move onto the next number. Do this over all the numbers, until you have what the pendulum has picked for you. However, as I have mentioned the way the pendulum moves for you may be different to the way it moves for others.

So a 'YES' [which is clockwise for me] could be an anticlockwise 'YES' for you. Keep doing this until you have picked all the numbers out using your pendulum. Keep a clear mind at all times. Do not do this when you are tired, lethargic, sick or stressed as, again, this could skewer the result.

Also, if your mind is clear and you have good concentration always accept the FIRST ANSWER your pendulum gives you [whether you may like it or not]. Repeating the same question over and over could result in your pendulum refusing to answer you at all. Spirits get annoyed too,and you have to understand this. So always take the first answer, thank the spirit, then move onto your next question.

This goes for ANY question you ask the pendulum. If you are tired and you are not concentrating on the question you have asked, your pendulum will tend to give you wrong answers. Also, do not drink alcohol when dowsing with the pendulum. This must be done with a CLEAR MIND.

Having a clear mind is vitally-important in achieving accurate results time and again. The more you use your pendulum the more you 'open up' your sixth sense, third eye and intuition. Your psychic ability will grow stronger too, as you use your pendulum,so practice makes perfect.

Make a record of your achievement with the pendulum - in reference to the lottery. See how many times it is accurate, over an x-amount of days or weeks. The results may surprise you. At all times, however, treat your pendulum with respect.

You are in contact with the spirit realm here so use your pendulum only when you need it. Don't allow yourself to base all of your decision-making on the pendulum alone. However, it is handy for finding out about certain people - if they are potential boyfriend/girlfriend material.

Also they come in handy if you need to know if a spirit is within your home or is around you or members of your family..They can be used for all manner of things, But usually, I use mine for lotteries.
